To all Maher brothers and sisters,
We hope this letter finds you and your families in good health.
With the blessing of Mataji, we are pleased to inform you that our Navratri programme will be as follows:
Start Date: Saturday 19th September 2009
Finish Date: Sunday 27th September 2009
Venue: Function Hall, Piccadilly Cinema
Stratford Road, Sparkhill
Time: 7pm – 11 pm (week days) 7pm – 12 midnight (week ends) – Please come early to make the maximum use of our time. We will not be allowed to extend the time at the end.
Car parking: There is a large car park behind the cinema. Use the normal entrance in Stratford Road and then go round to the back. Please park properly so that people can arrive and leave comfortably.
Arti:This year there will be no bidding to do the Arti. Instead anyone can do it. Please bring your own Arti plate. If you do the Arti, then you are asked to make a minimum donation of £5.25 please.
Arti plate decoration competition: There will be a competition throughout Navratri to see who can decorate the best Arti plate. The categories are under 8s and 8-16 years olds. Prizes will be awarded for the best and second best decorated plate in each category.
Friends: We all have friends who like to come to our Navratri. Please remember that if you do bring friends, then their behaviour will be your responsibility. If they want to come on a regular basis, then the fee of £30 will be applicable to them too.
Diwali: Tickets for Diwali programme on November 1st will be on sale during Navratri. It will be the same format as last year - a music group, veg and non-veg food and drinks.
Donations: All donations will be very welcome and if any of the businesses want to sponsor any part of the event, they are very welcome to do so.
Please pass this information to any new families who have come or anyone who has moved address since last year.
Please come on time for the Navratri programme. This will give you more time to play. Please make sure your children behave, as we want to create a good impression for future events.
Finally – come along every night, have fun and let us celebrate Navratri together.
